Story
Zero Waste Week is a grassroots campaign raising awareness about the environmental impact of waste and encouraging participants to reduce landfill.
Launched in 2008, the campaign reaches over 35 million people. Despite impressive figures I've not managed to secure corporate sponsorship for a number of years.
I run this campaign because I believe in it, but without financial support this is no longer sustainable for me, which is why I'm inviting you to donate.
I get emails of appreciation which indicate you derive great value from the week. Feedback includes:
"If you think too much about the environment it's overwhelming, but Zero Waste Week makes you feel you can do something."
"Zero Waste Week makes you feel a part of something bigger, and oh God, maybe there is hope."
"There are people you feel friends with, like you’re fighting for a common cause… that you’re all in the same corner."
"The community is really friendly and supportive" and "Being here has made me feel happier"
Each campaign takes around 400 hours to run; which I have to take away from my business.
If you have received value from Zero Waste Week, I invite you to help me cover costs for 2016.
Here’s how your money can help:
£6 cost of shipping one prize
£23 one month MailChimp signup
£40 one month website hosting
£200 graphic design
£? one hour of my time - you decide!
£? Ambassador bloggers and social media admins - If I can raise over £10,000 I'd love to reimburse them for their commitment.
Thank you for your generosity, for being part of the solution and for making the world a better place.
