Story
On a Sunday afternoon Zeus came home limping and screaming in pain. We noticed he couldn’t put his right hind leg on the floor. We were told to get X-rays done which we did. After our local vet had a look at his X-ray costing £400, they suggested to amputate his leg. However, I did not agree with that and asked to be referred to a specialist. The specialist believed he could save the leg at the cost of £4000. This was clearly not in the budget . After looking elsewhere, we came across a vet who offered to help zeus in the price range of £1500-2000. At this point zeus's leg was extremely swollen and getting worse and the pain was too much for him to cope with. We felt like we had no choice but to go ahead with this surgery. The vet explained to us that if they were able to insert plates only if there is any bloody supply found in that part of the leg, otherwise amputation. Zeus is currently still at the vet recovering well from his successful surgery.
