Story

Nightstop was founded in 2003 when people in the community noticed a lack of services for young people facing homelessness due to hard times at home, etc. They later realised that this service was lacking in all ages and they now offer help for any ages (usually for sixteen and over.) For younger people the Nightstop team try to offer rehoming, making sure of vigorous background checks on every home to ensure absolute saftey for everyone in need. For those unwilling or unable to be rehomed, Nightstop offer high quality, four season tents and sleeping bags as the team know that bad weather conditions can be especially harsh for those on the streets and so where possible they offer a warm meal and place to stay in the churches and other community buildings. Although the team understand that this is not ideal, it is better than nothing and makes life being homeless that tiny bit easier. However, the charity rely heavily on sponsorships and funding from others as tents, sleeping bags, etc can be expensive and are rarely returned.
Our NCS group chose Nightstop because we believe that being homeless in the High Peak can be especially hard because of lack of services willing to help along with the bad weather and this is why we want to give this project our all and raise as much money as possible.
