Story

My Mom, Beverley, went to the doctors with a routine cough and cold complaint in August 2018. After a Endoscopy showed up some areas of concern, further tests including biopsies and scans uncovered stomach cancer that had been there for over 12 months. Nine weeks of Chemotherapy were completed in an attempt to reduce the tumour and stop any spread.

Last week she had an operation to remove her stomach in an attempt to cure her cancer. The surgeons had to abort the operation when they discovered that the cancer had already spread to areas outside of the stomach.

The cancer is inoperable, so we must resort to drugs and alternative solutions. The surgeon at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford who performed the operation has urged us to try Immunotherapy in combating the disease. This is available through private healthcare in Europe but only as clinical trials through the NHS in the UK. There are no trials currently open to us so to help this amazing 55 year old woman, wife, mother, grandmother and friend I am asking for your incredible help. The money will help provide the Immunotherapy or Heated intraperitoneal chemotherapy in Germany and give Beverley the hope and determination to beat this horrible disease.

With the funds raised so far, we have been able to travel to Frankfurt and after visiting Prof. Vogl and having various scans, the positive news is that they can treat the cancer with a process called TACE. Bev has now had 2 rounds treatment which involved drugs being inserted directly into the blood vessels around the tumour to start destroying the cancer cells. There will be 3 more treatments a month apart at a cost of £4500 each (£18,000).

To help with raising these funds myself and my amazing work colleagues have signed ourselves up to participate in the Tough Mudder UK Midlands Event on the 18th May.

The Amazing Envirotech Team are :

Zoë Harrison Lanns, Deborah Ingley, Joanna Nichols, Mark Evans, Jack Pullar, Nick Bees, Scott Smith, Luke Willmett, Jess Amos, Charlie Fletcher, Brett McKay & Josh Clarke

We are hoping to raise as much sponsorship as possible to help with the cause. All I’m asking is if you can help us in any way to smash this target – No amount is too big or too small and will help my mom on the long journey ahead of her.

Thankyou all for your support x
