In 2008 Educateperu built Santa Maria school for 120 pupils in the poorest zone of Lima, Pachacútec,, which had no school at that time. It now has 800 children aged 4 - 16yrs. People locally live in wooden huts with tin roofs, little sanitation and water but they love education. The 2nd project built is a bakery training school for our school leavers, as there is little chance for the majority to go to university, even though they are clever enough. The 3rd which is in progress at this time, is a Refuge for Abused Children. All £ raised goes to help the children and no one takes any expenses of any kind, ever.
