About us
Fatima Women’s Association (FWA) in Oldham is committed to empowering disadvantaged women, children, and young people by helping them build confidence, resilience, independence, and the skills needed to thrive in everyday life. We provide a welcoming and inclusive environment where individuals can access opportunities for personal development, education, training, and community participation. Through a wide range of activities and support services, we enable people to overcome barriers, develop new skills, and reach their full potential.
Many members of our community experience significant challenges, including social isolation, poor physical and mental health, language barriers, domestic abuse, unemployment, financial hardship, low self-confidence, and limited access to education and training. These issues can reduce opportunities, affect wellbeing, and prevent individuals from fully engaging in community life. Fatima Women’s Association responds to these needs by offering safe, supportive, and culturally sensitive programmes that help participants build social connections, improve wellbeing, and gain the knowledge and skills needed to create positive change in their lives.
Our programmes deliver meaningful and long-lasting outcomes. Participants improve their English language, literacy, numeracy, digital, and IT skills while gaining recognised qualifications and certificates of achievement. They develop pre-employment skills, increase their confidence and self-esteem.
