Help us spread the light this Diwali season! The Indian Community of Mississippi is raising $51,000 to fund a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) patient room. Diwali is the Indian festival of lights, symbolizing the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.
Please join us in making a donation to this once-in-a-lifetime project! All contributions are tax deductible and every donation will be matched up to $51,000. Donations of $501 or more will receive a Children's of Mississippi face mask.
The Indian Community of Mississippi has a long-standing reputation for coming together and making prominent contributions in times of crisis and for capital campaign projects.
In 2003, a sculpture of Indian leader Mahatma Ghandi was unveiled on Millsaps campus. The sculpture, a gift given by the association, honors a man who influenced the lives of millions and seeks to encourage faculty, staff and students to reflect on great thinkers whose contributions changed the world.
The association also raised over $60,000 for the Mississippi Children's Museum during it's capital campaign to support the health, literacy and well-being of children in our community and state.
In 2016, the Growing Campaign was launched to expand Children's of Mississippi, the only hospital in the state dedicated to caring exclusively for children. The funds raised will provide an advanced facility with 88 private NICU rooms, 32 private PICU rooms, and a dedicated imaging area for children.
