I'm running the Oxford Half Marathon to raise funds for Human Story Theatre (HST). 

I've been working with HST on a voluntary basis for a couple of years and have been inspired by their work, devising, producing and performing new plays about health and social care issues that really matter to local communities. All HST's plays are critically reviewed in mainstream theatres before being taken on the road to local community venues where they entertain and inform people about issues that impact communities like dementia, loneliness, suicide, alcoholism, breast cancer, domestic violence etc. Each show is accompanied by a panel of experts and is concluded by Q&A sessions that further help people understand the underlying issues and signpost them to local agencies and services that can help.  

I'm going to be running to raise funds for the next tour of Connie's Colander, a play about dementia, which is going to be performed in libraries throughout the UK. To try to ensure maximum accessibility, HST have a 'pay what you can afford' policy for all of the community venues they perform in, so the money you donate will go directly to help fund the tour and benefit people who are directly and indirectly affected by dementia.
