Story
Nearly seven years after a team of Surrey ‘mountaineering’ masons climbed the summit of Mount Snowdon, Wales’ highest peak at 1085m in support of the 2019 Festival, they’re going back, with many of the original team! The returning team will be ‘led’ by the Provincial Grand Master, RWBro Ian Chandler, and accompanied again by WBro Paul Crockett APGM, WBro Terry Owens, WBro Brian Penfold and WBro Nick Tyrrell, all of whom took part in the original ascent.
This year, they will be joined by WBro David Olliver APGM, our intrepid Provincial Grand Charity Steward, WBro Steve Norris, as well as a team of enthusiastic Brethren and Companions from across the Province, together with several wives and partners.
The aim of the Return to Snowdonia Challenge is to raise money through sponsorship and donations for 3 charities which are being supported this year by Provincial Grand Lodge and Provincial Grand Chapter:
-Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex (helmet appeal)
-Myaware (the only charity in the UK dedicated solely to the care and support of people affected by myasthenia)
-The Wildlife Aid Foundation
