About Hawthorne Community Center
Hawthorne Community Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 1923 by civic-minded community members with the purpose of providing vital services that meet community needs. Located at 2440 W. Ohio Street, it has been a stalwart fixture on the near west side of Indianapolis, Indiana, for over 96 years. Today, Hawthorne exists for the same purpose, and while the needs have changed Hawthorne’s robust program offerings and participation reflect a strong, successful work history within the community.
