The Mount Stuart Trust was created by the 6th Marquess of Bute in 1989 with the purpose of entrusting the historic Mount Stuart House and Gardens, together with the lands and resources comprising the Bute Estate, to a board of Trustees to be run for charitable purposes. We raise funds through admissions, events, donations and gift aid to support the conservation and preservation of Mount Stuart House and Gardens and the wider estate for current and future generations to enjoy The core purpose of Mount Stuart is the stewardship of the heritage assets in our care and to support, enable and promote learning, innovation and creativity
