Story
My name is Adnan, and I work with WaterAid.
It’s been five years with the organization—and three years since I started running.
What keeps me going isn’t just the finish line. It’s the reality that for millions of people, movement isn’t a choice—it’s a necessity. Every day, women and girls walk an average of 6 km just to collect water. Often, they make that journey multiple times a day.
This run is my way of standing in solidarity with them.
WaterAid works to ensure that everyone, everywhere has access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene. These aren’t just basic services—they are the foundation for stronger economies, healthier communities, and greater opportunity. When these systems are in place, children can stay in school, families can earn a stable income, and communities can move forward with resilience.
What should be normal still isn’t for millions.
Run with me. Support this journey.
Because access to water isn’t charity—it’s the starting point for everything that follows.
