Story
On March 29th, I’ll be taking on my very first HYROX event & I’m honoured to be doing it alongside my workout buddy & friend, Sarah.
Those who know me well know one thing for sure… I HATE running 😅
So this really is pushing me way outside my comfort zone.
8K of running in total, plus all the gruelling stations in between 🫣
Seven years ago, cancer took my husband.
I watched the man I loved fade away & die in my arms. That kind of pain changes you forever.
Macmillan aren’t just there for the illness, they’re there for the people left behind, learning how to survive life after loss.
I’m racing for my husband.
For every person fighting cancer, every survivor & every family changed forever.
For those learning how to breathe again after grief.
And I’m dedicating this race to my children the reason I keep going when I feel empty.
This will be one hell of an emotional race, but I want my kids & others to know this:
When you decide not to quit, anything is possible.
With my HYROX partner Sarah beside me, this race is also a reminder of just how powerful women are when we lift each other 🤍💪🏻
Between us we’ve pledged to raise £400 each , which could run the Macmillan Support Line for nearly an hour. Any support, no matter the size, truly makes a difference.
Here’s what your donation could do:
📖 £10 could pay for 10 copies of the Help with the Cost of Cancer booklet.
📱 £20 could provide one session of emotional support for someone affected by cancer through a Macmillan Buddy.
💚 £39 could pay for a Macmillan Nurse for 1 hour.
There are currently over 3.5 million people living with cancer in the UK. Macmillan wants every single one of them to have access to the best care and support — but they can only do that with help from people like you.
Thank you so much for reading, supporting, sharing, donating… or just cheering me on. It means more than you will ever know. 💚🏃♀️✨
