CODE Summit for Literacy 2026
Campaign by CODE (RCN 118834878RR0001)
In 2026, CODE supporters will climb Mount Kilimanjaro to raise life-changing funds for children’s literacy in Africa — transforming classrooms, training teachers, and opening the door to learning for thousands of children.

Story

This July, I am going back to Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, to support children’s literacy and an award-winning non-profit called CODE. Rising 5,895 metres (or 19,300 ft) above sea level, this nine-day trek will push me physically and mentally, but every step is for something bigger — helping children learn to read.

20 years have passed since my first climb for CODE, but there is still no stronger predictor of success in life than the ability to read. That’s why I’m climbing — for children’s futures and their right to learn. I hope you’ll support me in reaching my fundraising goal of $15,000!

Funds raised through this climb will help expand CODE’s literacy project in Tanzania, reaching more schools and more children with the tools they need to succeed.

From 2019 to 2025 CODE has:

- Distributed 1,600,000+ copies of locally-relevant hardcopy books

- Reached 1,600,000+ children through literacy programs

- Supported 25,000+ teachers with professional development opportunities

Thank you for your support!
