Story
This July I am climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro for a sixth time in order to raise funds for CODE's children's literacy programmes in Tanzania. I am a past Chair of CODE's Board and I am doing this again because I am passionate about the power of literacy to foster development in Africa. There is no greater predictor of success in life than the ability to read and write - so I'm climbing for the children of Africa and their dreams of a better future.
CODE (formerly the Canadian Organization for Development through Education) is an award winning Canadian charity that promotes literacy and education in a number of African countries. CODE has won 4 UNESCO International Literacy Prizes for its work and has been recognized by Charity Intelligence as a top 10 international charity. Funds raised through this climb will help expand CODE’s literacy project in Tanzania, reaching more schools and more children with the tools they need to succeed.
Thank you so much for your support!
