This year for Ottawa Race Weekend, Team Perley Health will be celebrating the life of Daniel Clapin, honouring his commitment to the residents of Perley Health and the legacy he leaves behind within the Perley Health Foundation.

Team Perley Health is marking its 10th year participating in Ottawa Race Weekend, an initiative that Dan spearheaded as Executive Director of the Perley & Rideau Veterans' Health Centre Foundation.

The idea came from Dan's love of running; he would go for a run on his lunch breaks. Every year since the inception of Team Perley Health at Ottawa Race Weekend, he would dedicate his kilometres to residents - this was his fuel.

Each year he continued to be a top fundraiser. Even while navigating cancer treatment, Dan would participate in the run virtually by slowly walking the distance, continuing to fundraise for the Perley.
