Story
A Humanitarian Crisis
Conflict impacts on children significantly.
Save The Children staff on the ground are seeing death, destruction and displacement on a staggering level. As they provide medical care, shelter and essentials, they’re feeling the walls of buildings shake from explosions – risking their safety to get vital aid to people living through this day after day.
Our focus is to concentrate on raising funds for any children and families who are being effected by conflict. As you will know lots of children are now orphans having lost their parents and family members and will continue to struggle coming to terms with the loss and destruction for many years to come.
Colleagues from Halifax and The Bradford Probation Service are committed to raising funds to donate to Save the Children international charitable organisation to support children throughout this humanitarian crisis.
We feel powerless to make a difference to children's lives internationally and witness the death and destruction on the News on a daily basis.
We appreciate how lucky we are to raise our own children in a safe and peaceful environment so we feel the need to give something back to those children who are suffering in other countries. To also raise awareness within our own families and the younger generation.
As we are focusing our fundraising on children, what a better location to hold an event. This is a family event and all are welcome.
Event: A sponsored walk in Blackpool on Sat 6th April.
Meeting Point – North Pier at 11.30am for an 11.45 start.
Distance: The Golden Mile from North to South pier.
This is a family event and all are welcome.
