Story
Almost 25 years ago I came to DC, and joined a meet up group “Do Something” that introduced me to 100% volunteer founded and led – Horton’s Kids. We took a school bus to Anacostia to tutor, manage field trips and do all we could to support the most underserved neighborhood near the U.S. Capitol.
Since 1989, Horton's Kids with more than 300 volunteers helps remove systemic barriers for children and families in Southeast DC. Their comprehensive programs and services support the physical, educational, and social-emotional development of 600+ Kids – and counting.
It's phenomenal to see their growth and impact including completing a new Horton's Hub - building ownership!!! that expands reach and provides safe space.
I'm proud to stay connected and hope you'll consider making a gift - no amount is too small!
I always welcome the chance to share more about their impact or ways to get involved. Thank you for supporting me and the lasting impact in our Nation's Capital.
