I am walking to honor my mom, Kathleen McKay, who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly from a massive heart attack at the age of 60 while I was in Perfusion School. Raising money for the Prairie Cardiac Rehab program through the Prairie Heart Foundation to assist in helping others who have survived their cardiac events live longer and healthier lives seems to be a fitting tribute to a woman who was dearly loved and is deeply missed.
