Ghana is home to over 32 million people with many linguistic and religious groups. International Needs is committed to seeing transformed lives with a focus on child rights, education, health, gender and empowerment, and Christian witness.

Story

My daughter, Emma, is attending Cosmetology school through Careerline Tech Center this year. We are so fortunate for her to have this opportunity right here in our own community.

I work for International Needs, and one of the programs that we support is a vocational training center for women in Ghana. Cosmetology is one of the trades that students can learn at this center.

As Emma embarks on her program, I would like to help a girl in Ghana to receive training that will lead to a sustainable income in the future.

The annual cost of this vocational school is $600. Will you help me send a woman to school? To make this interesting, I'm committing to giving up caffeine for 600 hours - that's 25 days without my morning coffee! 600 hours to help raise $600 to transform 1 more life.

The CEED program (Center for Empowerment and Enterprise Development) empowers women through the provision of vocational skills training, counseling to at-risk women, and rehabilitation of victims of human rights abuse.

The Republic of Ghana is home to over 32 million people with many linguistic and religious groups. Ghana is a leader in African international affairs and has significant influence in West Africa. Located on the Gulf of Guinea, Ghana was subjected to the Europeans’ slave trade and used by the Portuguese, Dutch, Germans, and British over the centuries until independence was won in 1957.

International Needs began its ministry in the capital of Accra in 1984 and is committed to seeing change in communities and transformed lives through an integrated approach. The IN Ghana ministry operates with a focus on child rights, education, health, gender and empowerment, and Christian witness.
