Story
On June 21st, Kenzie and I will be walking 5km to raise funds for a life-changing water project in the village of Ouena, Burkina Faso a cause close to my late mother laws heart.
Kenzie took part in this event with Mémé last year and once she found out that this years event is in memory of Mémé, she had her mind set that she’s taking part despite having to miss her piano recital. Please support Kenzie in her walk for water in Marie’s memory.
Ouena is home to more than 20,000 people who face extreme poverty and a harsh climate. With droughts lasting up to nine months each year, families are forced to rely on polluted rivers and distant wells—putting their health and safety at risk. Women and girls often walk hours each day just to collect water, missing school and opportunities in the process.
By supporting our walk, you’ll help drill two boreholes in Ouena, giving the community a sustainable source of clean water close to home.
Thank you for supporting our walk!
