Story

I cannot believe another year is almost in the books. As you all know I have been working with the international development community since 2013 building pedestrian footbridges around the world. Since 2022 I have been serving on the Board of Directors for Engineers in Action since transitioning from my work with Bridges to Prosperity. EIA works with underserved communities and global partners to execute sustainable engineering projects that build local capacity and improve access to essential resources.

With your past support, we have been able to do some pretty incredible things this year. In 2023 I traveled to Eswatini with a small team of rag-tag bridge builders to train local staff and build the first-of-its-kind pedestrian suspension bridge at Mboma. The Eswatini team has since built 2 additional suspension bridges using the skills we helped them develop. We also started a WASH program in that country as well. This year I traveled to Bolivia to help construct a 68-meter suspended bridge in Rio Calasamana with a team from JHL Construction in Colorado; my 20th trip.

This coming year is looking to be a banner year with plans to expand into Peru with a pilot bridge planned for late spring 2025, our first University Student Suspension Bridge project in Eswatini in late July and several other exciting projects in the works. With all of our hard-working staff, board members and volunteers dedication and grit, we look to 2025 to be great!

I humbly ask you that you continue to support my passion, our global team, and the people all over the world that we help by again donating to this year's year end fundraiser. My goal this year is to raise $4,000. And again this year, there are several donors that will match dollar-for-dollar every donation very early in this year's program so please, if you can, donate early to maximize those funds. As I have mentioned before, this money goes directly to the organization. I fund my own travel for these projects.

In 2025, we aspire to build 40 more bridge and WASH projects to serve thousands more people.

Thank you very much and Happy Holidays!

Ken
