Story

I'll be raising funds for Crohn's & Colitis UK Local Networks, Leicestershire and Rutland, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire Central.

Chrons and Colitis has been a burden on family for the past 10 years. With my dad being the first diagnosed with Chron’s disease, then myself with colitis at 17 years old and most recently my sister has been diagnosed with Chron’s.

Chron’s is so often overlooked by doctors as “ibs” and in some cases takes years to diagnose. I suffered for 2 years before my diagnosis and even after that it was an ongoing process to find the right medication for me to be able to manage my symptoms day to day. Fast forward to this day and I’m lucky enough to be able to keep my flare ups at bay with diet and exercise.

However, my dad and sister haven’t so lucky and will most probably be on medication for the rest of their life. Despite having part of her colon removed my sister still suffers from recurring abscesses, chronic fatigue, excruciating pain and even arthritis at 32 years old, has had more tests than you can even begin to count and unfortunately is still ongoing.

I am raising awareness for people like my sister, as many don’t know that those are even complications of Chron’s disease and just think it is just stomach pains and digestion.

Thank you for taking the time to read, any donations would be appreciated xx
