EIA is a non profit organization that works with underserved communities and universities to execute sustainable engineering projects that improve access to essential resources. This year is University of British Columbia Okanagan's (UBCO) first year in starting a chapter. This team is involved in designing and constructing a 34m pedestrian footbridge which provides year long access for 1190 residents to a school, health centre, and agriculture farms in Bolivia. The river is impassible for 150 days of the year preventing communities from accessing these resources. In May 2025 students from the UBCO chapter along with students from the University of Alberta and University of Toronto are partnering to construct a 34m long suspended footbridge.
