Story
I'm running the 10k at Ottawa Race Weekend again this year to support WaterAid, and my colleagues around the world, provide essential water, sanitation and hygiene in places where these are not available for all people.
For this second 10k in my continuing post-covid health journey, I have only 6 weeks to train and have not been doing much exercise the past few months. My chronic fatigue is gone (yay!) and I'm now weaning off my medication, which was also helping with some of my vestibular dysfunction symptoms (persistent swaying dizziness) - Just to add another challenge to my training lol!
So my goal is to finish the race around last year's time of 72 minutes and raise $1000.
Can you imagine daily life without clean water to drink? to bathe and cook? to treat patients in a health clinic or hospital? or to drink while running a race!
We all need clean water, no matter who or where we are. Every person needs a sustainable supply of safe, clean water: for drinking, washing, cooking, and cleaning. It’s a basic human right.
That’s why our goal is simple: to ensure everyone, everywhere can access safe, clean water on a daily basis. And with your support, it's something we can achieve within a generation.
