Why I’m Running the TCS New York City Marathon for Summer Search

Running has been a big part of my life for years. I’ve trained for and completed marathons and races before, each one teaching me something new about resilience, focus, and what it means to push past limits. This November, I’ll be taking on my biggest race yet—the TCS New York City Marathon—but this time, I’m running not just for myself, but for a cause that truly matters.

To earn my spot at the starting line, I’ve committed to raising $7,000 for Summer Search, a nonprofit organization that transforms the lives of young people from low-income communities.

Why Summer Search?

Summer Search provides students with long-term mentorship, life-changing summer experiences, and guidance through college and early adulthood. They help young people discover their strengths, build confidence, and chart paths toward bright futures. Many Summer Search students are the first in their families to go to college, and with support, they achieve incredible things—graduating, building careers, and giving back to their communities.

I know how much discipline and heart it takes to train for a marathon. But for these students, the marathon isn’t 26.2 miles—it’s life. Their perseverance inspires me, and I’m honored to run on their behalf.
