CODE Summit for Literacy 2026
Campaign by CODE (RCN 118834878RR0001)
In 2026, CODE supporters will climb Mount Kilimanjaro to raise life-changing funds for children’s literacy in Africa — transforming classrooms, training teachers, and opening the door to learning for thousands of children.

Story

This July, I will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa. This is my second journey to Kilimanjaro, having successfully summitted in 2006. Somehow, 20 years have gone by...

Like last time, my climb will support children’s literacy through CODE, an an award winning Canadian charity that promotes literacy and education in a number of African countries. CODE has won 4 UNESCO International Literacy Prizes for its work and has been recognized by Charity Intelligence as a top 10 international charity.

There is no stronger predictor of success in life than the ability to read. Across Sub-Saharan Africa, nearly 90% of children cannot read and understand a simple text by age 10. Funds raised through this climb will help expand CODE’s literacy project in Tanzania, reaching more schools and more children with the tools they need to succeed.

Thank you for your support.
