Story
This September, I’m joining an inspiring fundraising campaign for Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (NWABA) as part of Give More 24!, a powerful 24-hour giving day benefiting nonprofits across Southwest Washington.
NWABA provides life-changing opportunities through sports and physical activity for children, youth, and adults who are blind and visually impaired—and I’ve seen firsthand how deeply their work matters. Whether it’s the confidence of a child riding a tandem bike for the first time, or the pride of an athlete crossing a finish line, NWABA helps people thrive.
👉 Here’s why I’m fundraising for NWABA:
Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (NWABA) has been a lifeline for my daughter, Audrey (and myself!) Audrey has made friends and found such community in their programs. Audrey attended her first inclusive sports event ten years ago, and just returned from a five day summer camp this month. After this year's camp, she returned with confidence and new goals achieved - all from the help of professionals. They shared all of the information with me in an exit email - this one on one focus is incredibly valuable for myself as a parent, and is a resource I can share with her school.
As you know funding for these amazing programs has seen lots of cuts. Now more than ever these acts of inclusion are vital to our community. NWABA creates experiences for Audrey they she couldn't access without their passion, knowledge, and true joy of empowering the visually impaired community.
