Story
As I begin my seventeenth year at Public Counsel, I have the continued privilege of serving as Vice President & Chief Development Officer. Along with our extraordinary development team, I have the responsibility of raising the much needed funds to support our life-changing legal work and over 160 attorneys, paralegals, social workers, and support staff. Our mission is simple: we are a nonprofit public interest law firm working with communities and clients to create a more just society through legal services, advocacy, and civil rights litigation.
We assist historically underserved populations such as veterans, foster youth, our unhoused neighbors, and immigrants to ensure that they have access to education, employment, housing, public benefits, legal residency, and much more.

Thank you in advance for considering this request. You support means the world to me personally, our dedicated staff, and our amazingly resilient clients.

Your contribution protects communities.
This summer, we filed a landmark class action lawsuit, Vasquez Perdomo v. Noem—challenging ICE’s unconstitutional stop-and-arrest practices and denial of due process at the notorious B-18 federal holding site in downtown LA. Our legal action secured groundbreaking temporary restraining orders—protecting Angelenos from abusive immigration tactics and unlawful denials of attorney access.
Your support changes lives.
When Sofia, a courageous 4-year-old, came to the U.S. for life-saving medical care, her family’s future was thrown into jeopardy after the government abruptly revoked her humanitarian parole. Thanks to your support, Public Counsel fought relentlessly for Sofia and her mother, restoring their right to stay in the U.S. and receive critical treatment at Children’s Hospital-LA.
