Story
Horton's Kids serves over 600 kids and their families living in Wellington Park and Stanton Oaks, two of the most under-resourced communities in all of DC. We have worked with Horton's Kids since 2012, starting as Monday night tutors to two elementary school students Genesis and Kristian (Genesis is pictured above!) in reading, writing, and math. Now that our sons Jack and Charlie take up our Monday nights, we're supporting the Horton's Kids community through raising awareness about their work and raising funds through their Give Thanks and Give Back Gala.
For 34 years, Horton's Kids has been fighting inequality to ensure every child graduates from high school ready to succeed in college, career, and life. The impact of these programs is dramatic: Participants who enroll in Horton's Kids programs are twice as likely to graduate from high school compared to their peers living in the same communities.
Horton's Kids has a goal to raise more than $250,000 this fall. Our goal is to raise $2,500 toward this goal. We are asking you to us me and create lasting change. The money we raise together will have an immediate impact on Horton's Kids programs. Please, consider making a donation.
Best, Virginia and Bobby
