About PENNINE CAMPHILL COMMUNITY
Success for us is 100% of leavers sustaining their independence setting of choice. That success looks different to each student – for some it is to have the financial security of paid, independent work, whereas for others it may be the communication skills to have control over their daily life, and to let people know when the quality of their care isn’t sufficient. We achieve this by providing a bespoke curriculum to each of our students. This starts with an individualised admissions & transition process
Our personalised curriculum sits within three pathways:
• Communication – supporting the student to have a voice, make choice and be as independent as possible
• Independence – supporting the student to keep themselves safe in an independent / supported living environment, to access the community (including employment, volunteering and further learning) and to make positive choices about their future engagement with society
• Employability – supporting the student to understand the workplace and build a toolbox of effective work practices to ensure they can successfully navigate and sustain work in their vocation of choice
