St Peter's Church, a14-15C Grade One listed building, is the parish church of Stourton Caundle, Dorset in the diocese of Salisbury and as such is governed by the laws of the Church of England. The church is run by an elected parochial church council. The church is open to all village residents, whether they are regular churchgoers or not. The church is an important part of village life and therefore it is important to keep it open and in good order. A building of this age requires constant maintenance and hence funds. These funds are raised from donations and regular fund-raising events. A treasurer maintains the accounts which are audited annually.
