Two years ago, our family received a second chance.

Our dad, the owner of Gooney’s, suffered a heart attack that changed our lives in an instant. Thanks to the exceptional care and expertise of the Ottawa Heart Institute, his life was saved.

Recovery didn’t just heal his heart, it transformed his lifestyle. Over the past year, he has embraced running as a way to stay healthy and strong.

This May, he will run a 5K during the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend alongside his family and the Ottawa community — and we invite you to join us, wear the shirt, and run for heart health.

As a family-owned restaurant rooted in the Ottawa community, Gooney’s wanted to give back in a meaningful way. We’ve partnered with the Ottawa Heart Institute to raise funds, awareness, and gratitude for the care they provide.

Our Fundraising Plan

- Gooney’s will host runners and supporters during race weekend

- We’ll sell co-branded running shirts to raise awareness and funds

- 100% of online and in-store cash donations, and all net proceeds from shirt sales, will be donated to the Ottawa Heart Institute

- Every donation supports heart health, second chances, and the care that makes stories like ours possible.
