Story

This March we are taking on the HYROX challenge to support people living with cancer for Macmillan Cancer Support.

From Siobhan:

A lot of you may or may not know, my Dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer less than 6 months ago and has been taken from us far too soon at just 61.

Dad was always the fittest, healthiest, most motivated and disciplined man I know, and has always been my biggest motivator for staying fit and healthy. He’s regularly partaken in multiple triathlons, half ironman’s, long hikes, long bike rides, even 2-3 months before his diagnosis he was cycling up mountains in Mallorca.

A Hyrox may seem like something so small in comparison to some of the stuff he’s achieved in his lifetime, but to me personally, I know he’d be so proud of me for doing this. For him, my family, his beautiful wife, his children, his siblings, his parents, anyone that loves him and cares for him, for close friends and colleagues who I know have also been devastated by the impacts of this cruel and unfair disease.

So this is for you Dad, Poppa Bear, Daddy.

I’ll love you endlessly.

From Georgia:

This challenge is incredibly personal to me. I’m doing this in memory of a loved one, Andre, who sadly lost his life to cancer five years ago. Not a day goes by where he isn’t missed. I’m also inspired every day by his wife Mel, who is very special to me and lives with cancer with such strength, bravery and determination.

I’m taking on HYROX alongside my girl Siobhan, whose dad has lost his life too soon. Seeing how cancer affects not just those diagnosed, but the people who love them, is heartbreaking — and it’s why this challenge means so much to us.

We wanted to push ourselves and turn this into something positive, raising money for a charity that gives vital support to people and families during some of the hardest moments of their lives. Every donation, no matter how small, helps Macmillan continue their incredible work and be there for those who need it most.

Thank you so much for your kindness and support. 💚
