In 1981 David Robinson and a team of 4 other friends and runners attempted The Three Peaks national challenge. They achieved an incredible world record for a relay over the mountains and the distances between them.
I am his daughter, Esmé and my son Leo and I wanted to do something to commemorate his amazing acheivement and thought... well, why not the Three Peaks?
We then dragged in my brother Ben and his wife Esme (yes another Esme).
So, in July, probably is sweltering heat and whilst fending off hoards of children just released for summer holidays(!) - we are attempting the challenge ourselves. We will be attempting to make it over the three highest peaks in each respective country in the UK (driving between them this time!) all within 24 hours (traffic permitting - as we cant control that bit!).
We are combining forces to raise money for two amazing charities. Keech Hospice, which provides essential care and services to people all around Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes. As well as the national charity The British Heart Foundation, but important charities and well deserving of any money that we can raise for them!
