It is one of the greatest moments in cinematic history. A bus, loaded with gold and crooks, gets stuck on the precipice between fortune and failure.
However, unlike the 1969 film, The A4D Cycle Challenge 2017 - ‘The Italian Job’ - had no such conundrum. The money raised from the ‘job’ went towards providing essential medication and care to disadvantaged young people with Type 1 Diabetes in South East Asia. All $35,000 of it. And the A4D Team, along with our friends at Punto Tours, finished the trip with a celebratory glass of prosecco safe on the shores of the beautiful Lake Como. The support bus was returned, intact, to its owner.
*The Italian Job TWO*
Team A4D is heading back to Italy for the A4D Cycle Challenge 2019. Taking on the hills of Emilia-Romagna, the cycling squad will be attempting to raise enough money to support 150 children for one year.
For 7-days in a row, they will be cycling between 80 - 110km through the dramatic landscape of this notoriously hilly part of northern Italy for A4D.
Please have a look below and choose a rider to back! Without the money raised on this ride, we would not be able to support all the children on our programme for another year. Without the essential medication that we provide, survival becomes nearly impossible.
Please help us hit our target. It will mean so much to us, and all the families that A4D support.
Thank you!
