On the 3rd of June 2019 a team of 12 members of the Royal Navy's Above Water Tactical Training Element from HMS Collingwood will travel to Ben Nevis to start & complete the National 3 peaks challenge within 24 hours, for the Amelia-Mae foundation.
This foundation do amazing work to support families that have a child suffering from Neuroblastoma, our aim as a team is to raise enough money to send a family dealing with this to Disney Land, Paris and give them an experience of a lifetime.
The National 3 peaks challenge involves climbing the 3 highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours, the total walking distance is 23 miles with an ascent 3064 metres and a total driving distance of 462 miles.
The Amelia-Mae foundation was established in Amelia-Maes memory to support families affected by Neuroblastoma, whilst publicly raising awareness of the condition. Neuroblastoma is an aggressive childhood cancer that affects around 100 children under the age of five each year in the UK and is the most common solid tumour in children after brain tumours.
