In the last 2 years or so, since taking part in the events I have, I've been extremely fortunate to gain a group of friends that like my brother was, are selfless first. A group of people I could no longer do without, purely because of the huge impact they've had on my life in that time. One of those men Gerald 'Mad Nick' McCarthy is the epitome of that ethos. I met Gerald properly for the first time on Last Summers Fan Dance Event, having the honour of spending quite a few gruelling hours with him and getting across the finish line together, it's true to say that as a consequence, we have become friends for life.
Gerald is taking part in once again many of the same events as me this year (already completing the Winter Fan Dance Event) and has decided he wants to help me realise my target for The ABF The Soldiers Charity whilst I'm training for and completing the Virgin London Marathon. However, selflessly, Gerald isn't doing the marathon, he is doing the Buddy Buddy Scheme 'Walk for Knowledge' on 15th & 16th March and has set up a sponsorship page to benefit The ABF and my target.
Therefore, we've joined together to raise money for this incredible charity.
