About Rediate
Our daughter Rediate is a bright 6 years old girl who has mixed dystonic/spastic Cerebral Palsy with lower limb involvement significantly more than upper limb. The high and low muscle tone in her limbs and trunk makes maintaining sitting difficult for her. Due to this she is limited in her ability to access the environment and requires a lot of support.
Why Snapdragon?
The Snapdragon elivating power chair will give Rediate the chance to lead a much more independent life as possible. She can play and explore just like other kids of her age. She will be able to splash her hands in the puddles, feel the grass and mud, pick up things that she drops and put them back on the shelves (as she always wish to tidy up), she will hopefully be able to move herself into and out of the chair because it can go to floor or sofa or bed level.
The Big Price?
Snapdragons are custom made, the cost includes yearly servicing and replacement parts and batteries for five years. As Rediate grows, new seats for the Snapdragon will be provided. It also have a standing frame attachment. Everything is made especially for Rediate. Unfortunately NHS do not fund for chairs like Snapdragon, NHS only meets the childs clinical needs not social and development needs, that is why we need your help.
