Ian and I went to school with Shaun and we've been friends every since. Shaun suggested we try this Coast to Coast cycle ride when we stayed with him to watch the World Cup final last summer. We were out walking on the Pennine Way on a beautiful day with football and beers to come that evening. It seemed like such a good idea a year ago but now it's only weeks away and I really need to ramp up the training!!!
So on August 1st we set off from Whitehaven on the west coast and cycle over three days to Wearmouth on the east coast.
We've joined together to raise money for Help for Heroes, a cause I've been really keen on supporting ever since I went on a trip to the World War I and World War II battlefields and cemeteries in France and Belgium in 2009.
