Recently retired from the Fire Service after 30 years I wanted to take on a personal challenge and raise money for two charities close to my heart in memory of my father-in-law who sadly died of cancer almost 6 years ago. Walking in the countryside was something we enjoyed greatly with him as a family and therefore this seemed like the perfect challenge, to walk 1,111 miles over 3 months in his memory with nothing but my sleeping bag for company!. Both of my grown up children (George and Charlotte) have volunteered to join me for a week each and I'm sure my wife will bring me some supplies if I run out!
