This page is to raise money for the Mountain Rescue Teams whose volunteers made every effort to get Steve and Andy home safe from Ben Hope in February 2019.
When dealing with the magnitude of unexpected loss and grief, people either run in the opposite direction, or hit the road with you.
My friends, family and work colleagues hit the road with me.
I came up with an abundance of challenges that I could never manage in a year, and we formed a private group called Doing Stuff For Steve.
They have climbed with me, helped organise a charity cruise (thank you Loch Ness by Jacobite and all the companies that donated raffle prizes), walked up hills, and have even run beside me.
The upshot of which is I have a 50 Munro challenge this year (currently only on 20) and am running the Baxters Marathon with my amazing pal Shelley (I ran the Baxters 10k in 2015, hated every minute of it, and immediately stopped running).
So I am asking you again to help, and donate towards Doing Stuff for Steve in recognition of the amazing work and dedication of the volunteers in both Assynt and Dundonnell MRTs.
And in memory of both Steve and Andy.
I would rather be with you Steve, than doing stuff for you, but in light of the current situation, its all I have.
You inspired people in life, and now we don't have you, you continue to do so. In your memory people have completed their first Munro, made their first trip to the climbing wall, and taken part in a sponsored walk up Ben Wyvis to raise money for Mikeys Line, a mental health charity you supported alongside me. I know you would be as proud of my friends and both of our families as I am. Without their support, I have no idea where I would be.
