Following last year's success, this year Barclays London is supporting the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research (LLR) in their second London based annual fund-raising event.
All funds raised by the London Light The Night team will be invested in UK based LLS research, specifically supporting Anthony Green, MD, PhD of Cambridge. Dr. Green is a current recipient of a Marshall A. Lichtman Specialized Center of Research (SCOR) program grant from LLS. His research focuses on myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN), a blood disorder that can progress to very aggressive cases of acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) that are especially difficult to cure. Dr. Green and his team are currently conducting a large scale international clinical trial in the hopes of developing more accurate diagnosis and effective treatments for MPN.
