We are a group of 9 Lettings Managers and Directors from the south west London region of Hamptons International. We are privileged on a daily basis to find tenants for some of the most beautiful houses in London and we are all lucky enough to live in comfortable homes ourselves.
However, we are acutely aware that many people find themselves homeless and are forced to sleep rough. The Big Issue Foundation helps homeless people take control, move forward and gain independence. The Foundation gives a hand up not a hand out by connecting vendors with the vital support and solutions that help them rebuild their lives.
We are going to spend a night sleeping on cardboard in a cold warehouse in south west London to get just a small taste of what around 1000 people experience in London each night. Of course it won't compare to the reality of sleeping rough or living on the streets but it will give us a taste of what that life is like and enable us to show our support, channel awareness and raise much needed funds for Big Issue vendors.
