Ilkley Cycling Club members & friends are raising funds to donate to The Yorkshire Air Ambulance Fund as a thank you for the life saving work they do on a daily basis in our county.
ICC member Miranda Warren had a nasty crash during the Sunday Club 'C' ride near Appletreewick in the Yorkshire Dales whilst descending . She sustained a serious head injury & was unconscious but was thankfully speedily helicoptered to Leeds General Infirmary where she remained in the care of the Neurological team for the next 3 and a half weeks . After a very anxious time she is now thankfully home on the road to a steady recovery with the support of her husband Simon & family & friends . At our recent cycling time trial event we offered refreshments including sandwiches & homemade cakes & asked for donations to this fund . Lots of the baking was kindly provided by Miranda’s family, friends & ICC club mates . There have also been some generous offers of additional donations so It seemed appropriate to set up this page as a thank you to the Air Ambulance Service.
Miranda & Alex, her sister in law ,who was also on the ride were filmed at the time of the accident for BBC's "Helicopter Heroes" which is also a source of income for the Air Ambulance Service.
Many thanks for any baking or donations made so far .
