On 9th April, we lost our Papa (Raj) to COVID-19 and the following day our Babaji (Kishan) was taken from us as well.
We have chosen to raise funds for LOROS Hospice (The Leicestershire and Rutland Hospice) and The Ambulance Staff Charity (TASC). We kindly ask that in lieu of buying flowers, donations are made to our chosen charities.
We chose LOROS Hospice in honour of Babaji. They help over 2500 people across Leicestershire and Rutland in providing high quality care and services, tailored uniquely towards terminally ill patients, as well as their families and carers. Babaji used to attend LOROS Hospice daycare centres where they would take full care and support of him. When Babaji was no longer able to attend, they put in place a full support package, making sure that we were able to care of him in the comfort of his own home.
For Papa, we chose TASC. A charity thatunderstands the challenges facing all members of the ambulance services and care for their mental, physical and financial well-being. In Papa’s and Babaji’s time of need, the ambulance crew showed full support not only to them but to our whole family. They helped us when we had to make difficult decisions. Without them, Papa would not have received the care he needed and we would not have been able to be with Babaji in his last few moments.
