The team are raising money to support their endeavors as a Wheelchair Basketball team and club playing the National League and developing new players from across the region!
Club chairs for helping to introduce new players to the sport as well as raising awareness of the sport and disability cost around £1,000. Chairs for the players playing in the national league cost upwards of £3000 and this is without taking in to account court costs, kit costs, etc.
We plan to embark upon a number of events over the next few months raising money to support the team by raising it for Percy Hedley.
Our first event is a nice easy 13.1 push around the inside of the Sports Academy! A nice easy 250 laps in one afternoon! Put in to context this is the length of the Great North Run!
Why Percy Hedley? Well simply because we are managed and supported by the Percy Hedley Sports Academy and we would love to raise money for them and awareness of them as well whilst we are doing it for ourselves!
