We've joined together to raise money for Give 4 B.E.T.H., the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) and the Injured Jockeys Fund (IJF).
Our aims of the challenge and raising £20,000 are as follows:
- To help local disabled children and their families to achieve life changing dreams, whatever they may be.
- To support our local RDA group who offer amazing confidence building and core strength physiotherapy to both children and adults through the activity of horse riding.
- To give back to the horse racing industry and more importantly the jockeys that put their lives at risk and suffered life changing injuries to provide us with the enjoyment of the sport that we love so much.
You'll see our team fundraising target on the right and your kind donation can really help us to smash this goal.
Both of us have run the London Marathon in previous years and this in itself was a huge challenge to achieve. However, we wanted to set the bar even higher and take on a challenge that would really push our stamina and fitness to the limits.
In August 2017 the two of us will attempt to run 200 miles in just 7 days by running from winning post to winning post at 57 UK horse racing courses. The challenge will see us run between 7 & 10 racecourses each day as well as travelling inbetween venues. Every racecourse will present its very own challenge as there aren't many that are flat.
As well as the kind donations, we're also looking for businesses to sponsor the challenge. With 7 days of advertisement opportunity around the whole of the UK and through social media, it's a chance not to be missed.
