We will be taking part in the Grand Depart Classic, riding the first road stage of the 2022 Tour de France, 1 day before the pros. The ride starts in Roskilde and finishes 183km later at the Storebælt Bridge, taking in the coastline, countryside and hills of Denmark. Without doubt there will be lots of blood, sweat and tears. The time limit to complete the course is 12 hours.
Those of you who followed our journey in 2019 will know that the Grand Depart in Brussels was brutal and had a lasting impact on us all. This was not just as a result of the thermonuclear weather that we rode in; we met Carl & Chris who had a profound effect on us all, and we are honoured to call them our friends. They both joined our team and were set to be riding with us in Nice in 2020 before the Covid pandemic put paid to that.
At the age of 51, Carl was diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer, a diagnosis that took some time to come to terms with. Rather than dwelling on his situation, Carl decided to challenge himself by riding the Grand Depart in Brussels to give him something to focus on. He also wanted to help raise vital funds for research in the hope that one day a cure can be found.
We've all signed up for this ride for different personal reasons, but the common goal that we all share is that we want to help to make a difference and to save men's lives - and for that we need your help;
