Oxford Geeks
We run various activities including:
a scifi and fantasy book club,
a writing group,
board games,
cinema trips and
pure socials.
Rather than charge money for any of these things, there is an optional donation (the suggestion is £1 per Meetup but you can always give more). We are putting time and effort into creating interesting Meetups and instead of wanting anything for ourselves, we ask that if you appreciate the group and you think that it is worth supporting, you make a donation. If this page on Just Giving is successful, we will feel that we have more of an excuse to spend even more of our time planning awesome Meetups for you. :)
If you would like to become an organiser and help running events, that would be wonderful, please contact me. Or if you have some ideas for other activities that the club should be doing?
At the moment the charity for which we are raising money is "The Book Bus” (details below). I think we should change the charity we give money to maybe every 3 months. So if you have any good ideas that you think members of the club would support, please let me know, too.
